Berkenye is a settlement in the southwestern part of Nógrád county, on the southeastern edge of the Börzsöny, surrounded by forests. For years the village has been showing itself in the spring, thanks to the flowering blood-plum tree lining the road leading to it, which is now a real tourist attraction.
